    Winter solstice (12/21) – The first day of winter and also the shortest day of the year! We will slowly begin to regain daylight after this day.

    Festivus (12/22) – Celebration of the season in the BCHS gym.

    Winter Break (12/23) – We officially go on winter break on December 23 2022. We will return on Tuesday, January 3.

    Hanukkah (12/18-12/26) – Hanukkah is often called the festival of lights, and is celebrated with the lighting of Menorah, foods, games, and gifts.

    Christmas (12/25) – Christmas is the annual celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. It is celebrated by millions of people all over the world. It stems from the pagan and roman cultures.

    Kwanzaa (12/26-1/1/23) – Kwanzaa is an annual celebration of African-American culture from December 26 to January 1, culminating in a communal feast called Karamu, usually on the sixth day.

    Lunar New Year (1/22/23) – Lunar New Year is the observance of the start of a new year in a lunar or lunisolar calendar. It is often used to refer to Chinese New Year celebrated in China and people of Chinese heritage all over the world.
