Not Just Another Christmas

By Kay Archambault

Snow falling,

Carols singing,

Cocoa pouring,

But what if I’m not ready for another frigid winter?

The joy pumps through everyone,

Powered by eggnog and gingerbread,

We gather around to decorate,

But what if I’m not ready for another frigid,

My mind trails off into another familiar christmas movie,

I sip my cocoa,

Slip into my fuzzy socks,

But what if I’m not ready for another,

The smell of balsam lingers,

String lights cover every corner of the house,

It’s as if Christmas has kissed this home,

But what if I’m not ready for,

Carols ring throughout the night,

Hark hear the bells…

God rest the merry gentlemen…

But what if I’m not ready,

But what if I’m not ready?

What if I’m not ready?

I’m not ready to grow up,

To just say goodbye to christmas,

To pretend that this is just any other winter,

I’m not ready.
